I was in the Library tab of LimeWire & did a right click on a song & chose "Stop Sharing File"; and it went away. I only wanted to stop sharing it for a moment, because I couldn't rename it. The dialog window said another program or something may be using it. So; I saw that option & thought something or someone might be using it.
Where did that song go & how do I get it back? I mean, without downloading it again. I can't figure this out. Does someone know how to get it back? Thanx! And that's about how many hair's are left on my head (3).

Usually when you stop sharing a file it just turns red but stays in the library. If you choose to stop sharing a folder it will disappear from the Library but it's still on your harddrive. Try searching your computer for the file. Click Start>Search>All Files and Folders.
The default location of your shared folder is C:\Documents and Settings\'your account name"\Shared. You can add folders to your LW library by going to Tools>Options>Sharing, and browse to the folder you want to share, click "select" then "apply". If you accidently deleted the file from LW then it is gone and you would need a file recovery program to try and get it back. If that's the case, it'd probably be easier just to d/load it again Edit: To answer the original question, to share a file you'd previously unshared, just right click the file and click Share File.

A little bit ago, I was in the L/W Library tab & clicked once on the left side "Saved Files" (which looks like the WIN Explorer structure) just to highlight it; & suddenly the song appeared back on the list (in red).
So I just tried it again with another song, & it works just like you said, 6_Pac. You highlight on a song, then right click & choose "Stop Sharing File" & it is still there in red. Then you highlight again with a right mouse click & the NEW option is "Share File" & you choose that & it comes back to black letters. Neat-O, Mesquito-O, Burrito-O !!! I think that earlier; I chose "Stop Sharing File" then hit the space bar or something; that made it go away. Careless; but learned something in the process. And the song plays okay. Thanks for responding! I ALWAYS learn something from someone's words. |
