movies anyone?

I tried to download a movie (exe file) but as soon as I clicked to download it, I got a message saying "Content Removed" (in the window above). Any ida why? Is there a particular way to download movies?

Don't download exe files!! Look for a movie with a nice safe extension, like mpeg or avi;) Any file with an exe, zip or rar extension is likely to be infected:eek:

Always use Bitzi to check a file before download.
How to use Bitzi

Have a look through this thread too, there's info that applies to movies.
How to find music

Cheers for your answer. :) I can't access LW now but I think I checked the other files' extensions and I couldn't find anything else I could think ok to download...

Anyway I'll have a look at it again when I go back home.

Thanks Lord. Very useful info.:) I'm downloading a movie right now...hopefully it'll be ok. How long does it normally take?

Wma extention...is this safe? Is it for music or movies as well?

WMA is just music. So you are probably downloading a song. Do you mean WMV?

kitkat April 2nd, 2007 01:39 PM

Yeah, I meant Wmv. Or Mov...what are these?

birdy April 2nd, 2007 02:14 PM

WMV is Windows Media Video. .mov files are QuickTime files. You have to be careful with both these formats (I've filtered out both). Check out the threads below for more info;)

Most files you find on Gnutella with .Mov extension are porn spammed files. The recomended ones to aim for are mpeg/mpg, avi, divx. Likewise there's a lot of WMV spam. Not to mention other issues with wmv.

Thanks to you both. I had the chance to read a bit more on here and you're right indeed.

How about when I check a movie with Bitzi, there's no comment on it, but there are many ppl trying to downloading it. I try as well but after hours i still says needs more sources?! :bangh:
