CALLING KNOWITALLS- Please help me with download problem

Hey everyone,

I've been using limewire for a little while now and have never had a problem. But recently it's been acting rather strange! When limewire starts up everything starts off good- I'm downloading off multiple people, the connection is full and the download speed is good. After a minute or so the speed goes down to zero, my computer slows down to turtle pace, but it still has a good connection and still says it's downloading off multiple people. But nothing's happening WTF.......

Plus sometimes the progress bar goes down? Why? It's like someone is nicking my bandwidth and my downloads. Can that be done?

Anyhow if anyone has had the same problem or anyone knows a solution, I would be very very very grateful to hear so....

I'm certainly not a knowitall, though I wish I was. However, I do have a couple of suggestions that may or may not work. You could go to tools - options - uploads and decrease the amount of bandwidth you allow for other users. Or you could go to downloads and see what percent of your bandwidth is devoted to your downloads. If those don't help, you could decrease the number of simultaneous downloads.
If all of this stuff doesn't work, it could be that the people you are downloading from don't have much bandwidth for people trying to download from them, so when other people try to download from the person you're downloading from, your speed will go down. I have no idea why your progress bar would go down. that's possible?
