Default Download Issue

Okay, I've had trouble before. I have Windows Vista, McAfee firewall disabled and everything but I still can't get anythign to download or pull up. LimeWire connects but doesn't pull anything up. I have the brick wall in front of that picture but on my other computers ont he same network router it doesn't. So any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Brandon,
The McAfee firewall still concerns me, as many people cannot get LW running properly even with it disabled...They have actuall uninstalled the firewall, the privacy service and the spam killer....Have a look at this thread, at the solution this member discovered...

But if I do that, I won't be protected from viruses and all that jazz, will I?

There's other firewalls and spam killers that are compatible with Vista...It's the only solution I know of that can help what you are experiencing... It wont affect your virus scanner by removing the 3 above...

Yea, I'm not getting any search results. It connects fine now that I had McAfee work out my problem back a month ago or so. Why?

I can't recall what McAfee advised you to do, but whatever it was it helped...
Hopefully by dropping those Ultrapeers and getting new ones your search and download problems will be fixed...

Yea. About the ultrapeers. I have three up there and in the parentheses it says "(3 ultrapeers, 0 peers, 0 leafs, 0 connecting, 0 standard)". Do I still need to remove the and add those ones on that link? If so, how do I remove them and search for new ones?

Don't add the ones in the link there the ones you want to filter out...
Just highlight the ones you have and select remove....

The instant I removed them, new ones came up and my connection restarted and I searched a file and the searches are now working. I suppose that fixed it, is there some way to test and make sure I'm getting a turbo connection?
