I tried downloading the latest version of limewire and all my results come up as real player files is there anything I can do about that?

Hi musicmom.
In L/W click on Library then highlight a file (real player files) At bottom left corner click on explore, that takes you to your download folder.
Right click on file, Choose open with, then highlight what program you wish to
be your default player, then tick the box to always use this player to open this
type of file. OK.

Windows programs love to make themselves the default player. So perhaps each time you open RP it will ask to make it the default again. Beware of that.

When I downloaded the new version of limewire and updated Java as it requested not only did my search results come up all real player files, but when I downloaded the songs the real player popped up and said it was playing but I get no sound?

Did You do what I said ?

That's becaue your RealPlayer doesn't have the appropriate codecs to play those files. Do as mickjapa108 suggested; Setting Default video app / Setting default audio program. It depends, you may need to restart LW before the change shows up in LW. However it should be immediate.

No I haven't yet, but I will and thank you for all your help it was greatly appreciated! I'll let you know if this solves my problem!
