Question Lost Limewire How do I get it back

I had limewire, but I had to do a systems restore, and now am unable to get limewire back, I have tried to re-download it, but for some reason it does not work, it appears to be there, and I have down loaded every thing I need to run it, but it still will not work, what am I doing wrong?
I really enjoy listening to music while I work on the computer, and Limewire is a great source for downloading music, putting my media player, and listening to it. What do I do?????

What do you mean by "it does not work"? Won't download the installer? Won't open? Won't connect? Files won't download? Don't make us guess

Did you download the offline installer from LimeWire ?

For your downloading problem, see if this helps.
License (click)

To resume your downloads, go to LW's library then click on Incomplete Files. Highlight the file you want to resume & click Resume...it should continue downloading from where it left off (as long as there are sources for the file).

Default Error and Message Windows

I have received a couple of differant windows, the first is an

(Error) : Limewire was unable to write a necessary file because you do not have the necessary permissions your preferences may not be maintained the next time you start limewire, or limewire may behave in unexpected ways.

(Message) Your client is a leaf node shielded by an ultrapeer hence you will see few or no searches in the monitor window.

My sister is here helping me, she sais that she aquired the licenses, when she redownloaded limewire from C-Net/Gnutella.

I and my sister have tried what we know, and it seems nothing works, Limewire shows up, and when I type a name of a song in the search, it comes up with the list of songs to choose from, but when I double click on the song, or high light the song and click the green download button nothing happens.

Did you click on the blue link in my last post & follow the advice?

If you're a leaf node shielded by an ultrapeer, that's no problem. Ultrapeers are people with a fast connection, who aren't firewalled. They handle more search traffic than a leaf & shield the leafs from unnecessary search traffic...so a leaf only sees incomong searches (in the monitor window) that apply to their shared files. There's no disadvantage in being a leaf.

Delete LW's preferences folder when LW's properly closed. See point 3 below (also point 2 if you've used much older versions of LW in the past...there might be a folder in either location).
Fixes for LimeWire
This will kill all of your settings within options. You'll have to go back through & reset things afterwards.
