Thumbs down help with downloading files

Hi. Sometimes when I double click on a file to download it, instead of the file beginning to download, I get an internet explorer page which opens up and goes onto an adult content website.

I want to download files, but not get all this rubbish.

thanks.

Your trying to download spam, you need to get familiarised with fake and spammed files, as well as one's that are infected with viruses...

WARNING: Viruses on network you should be aware of!

Run an Anti-Virus scan and also a Spy-ware scan and see if you have a trojan or similar that keeps directing you to the IE page...

Here's some good freebies....

Anti-virus:

avast!

AVG free

Avira Antivir

Antispyware etc:

ad-ware __(FREE)

Spybot - Search & Destroy __(FREE)

AVG Antispyware (formerly Ewido)

Exclamation Yikes!! No, NOT AD-WARE

Ad-ware is actual spyware and can really mess up your computer. The correct version is AD-AWARE. AWARE not WARE for the last part after the hyphen.
