Everything stays on "queued"...pls help

It doesnt matter what i set my simultaneous downloads to ..whether its 1, 3, 20 or 100 i can only dl one at a time... before i could dl more... anybody have and idea, they just keep goin to qued.. i use mac osx and this happens, on my windows i dont have this problem...thanks again
