transferring songs to ipod

Apparently Im an idiot but can someone tell me how to get the ipod screen and the limewire screen up at the same time so you can try to drag the files? I have been trying to do this for 2 days and havent had any progress, I have tried the shared folder and cant find that either, I know Im just missing something can someone PLEASE help me? Thanks in advance
