Default Download Quality Question

What causes the downloads to have pops or skips in the song when played. Everything downloaded fine for me but when I play it or burn it I can hear the pops and skips?

Thanks,

indylola

If you were having this problem only playing songs thru the LW player, I'd blame the player (it's horrible). But since the songs are bad when burned, I'd say the files are poor quality.

Go for a file with a higher bitrate...at least 192,(224 or 320 bitrates are even better). In theory, higher bitrate means better quality

Preview songs during download. That way, if a file sounds crappy, you can kill the download & look for something better!

I'm new to this and recently downloaded an avi movie clip, I checked it with the bitzy checker then burned it to dvd. It won't play in my portable player, says unknown disc. Is there something more or different I should be doing? I tried on memorex dvd-r, dvd-rw, dvd+r, and dvd+rw. Is memorex not the right media?
I'm not sure how to get into a question thing of my own so hence this. Thanks for any and all help

Have you tried playing the DVD in a different player? Did you convert the file to DVD format before you burned it? What program/s are you using?
There are a few brands of DVD that my player won't play, other people have found that their players only like certain brands!

If you use the forum search to look for DVD, you'll find quite a few older threads with more info. Let us know if you're still stuck
