Copy & paste that file elsewhere. See if it really is complete or not by opening it. If it is complete, then cancel from your download window & remove from incomplete folder.

a couple of the songs have chunks missing. it says the whole file is there, but when it's playing it skips two minutes of the song. i have to go to class now, but i wonder if that is the result of the file being corrupt or not finished downloading. do you know how i could transfer the download to my bittorrent program? or will i have to just start over?

I suspect you'd need to start over. Normally incomplete files are not compatible between p2p programs. Also the % of how much is downloaded is normally stored within the download.dat file which is the download preferences. I don't know why you are having that problem, but keep trying. Perhaps on another day that last part will simply shoot straight down.
