Problems Downloading Hi, I have problems downloading on lw. My internet connection isnt the problem (i have wireless), as i am writing this right now. But for some reason, after i type in my search ad hit enter, nothing comes up. i even tried searching popular bands (that i knew there was some songs for), and nothing came up. the bar that the search query was in filled up, and still nothing. any tips? |
Try this.... Go to Tools > Options > Searching > Lisence Warning and make sure the box is not ticked and select apply... If that does not help try going to your Connections Tab in limewire, if it's not showing up go to Veiw > Show/Hide and make sure the connection tab has a tick next to it... Then click on the Hosts and remove them and let Limewire search for some more... (try to take note of the hosts IP numbers if the same ones keep re-appearing add them to your host filter...) ;) Tools > Options > Filters and select the Host Filter and add these IP's into it and select apply... Try installing PeerGuardian, it will help keep the fake hosts out...Remember to enable PG just before you start limewire up...;) Phoenix Labs » PeerGuardian 2 If you're using Vista, there's this PG2 Beta available for Vista users. PeerGuadian 2 for Windows Vista beta released - Phoenix Labs PeerGuardian 2:Manual - Phoenix Labs Wiki Another thing if you are using limewire 4.13 and later you can apply this hostile list... Could you supply these details please.... http://www.gnutellaforums.com/connec...-you-post.html |
I am having the eact same problem. There are no details. Everything is set up correctly. Everything that should be checked or not checked is correct. But when I search for a song or artist the search completes with NO RESULTS!!! I WISH i never updated to this version of Limewire because I never had any problems before. |

joekielley2 and missnic125..... Try deleting your preference folder/s ...This will reset your configurations back to default and get rid of any corruption that may of happened...;) Fixes for Limewire when LW isn't operating as it should LimeWire Pref Folder in Vista |

Go to LW's Preferences (keyboard shortcut: ⌘ ,) -> Advanced -> Performance & disable Ultrapeer capabilities. * A test I'd like you to do is (after LW has been open at least 15 mins): Bug Report instructions & sample image Is the result True/False? |
Thanks so much... I did everything I was told to... I deleted both folders the .limewire and the lime folder in application data. But now when I try to search for music... I get a message saying that "limewire is currently connecting to the network. Your search may not return many results until you are fully connected to the network" But i AM connected to the network, so I dont understand. And again it goes through a FULL search and comes up with no results. What do I do now? |
Just for your info WW & LOTR, missnic125 was also answered over here. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/genera...o-results.html So you know what else has been suggested;) Would've been nice to know that there was no connection to the network:blink: |
Cheers Birdy...;) missnic125 you will need to supply these details... http://www.gnutellaforums.com/connec...-you-post.html |
FYI Birdy... I didnt mention the connection b/c it IS connected. I have full bars... and that wasnt the error until I did all the steps above! |

Optimum Online 10. ?? 11. No 12. No 13. Yes 14. Not Sure 15. Norton 16. USA I also downloaded Morpheus to see if it worked... and I get the same error - it says its not connected (even tho I am online and on AIM at the same time)... Please let me know what to do next! Thank u!!! |
What is the model number for your Linksys wireless G broadband router ?? Also when you did this test http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ what did the page say?? Also what did you mean, (even tho I am online and on AIM at the same time)... AIM?? |
the router model # is WRT54G ver.6 the test said... "your test worked" and i meant... that I AM connected to the internet because I was online and on AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) and I have to be connected to the internet if Im using those programs... so why would limewire/morpheus say im not connected??? |
Ok here's a few things to try... Try uninstalling all versions of Java from the add/remove programs and then re-install the JRE 5.11 offline version.... Archive: Download Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE) 5.0 Update 11 Also try Port Forwarding...these are the instructions for the wrt54gv5, that's all the port forwarding site had, but it should be just about the same... Port Forwarding for the Linksys WRT54Gv5 Do you have AOL security at all ?? |

Also be sure you configured your firewall to allow LW full access: Windows Firewall - LimeWire |
ok- I uninstalled Java and then reinstalled it. I tried to do the port fowarding, but to be honest, im not paying $35 if I dont know for sure if it will work. But the Java didnt help... still searches for songs and has no results. Says still... Limewire is currently connecting to the network... your search may not return with many results until you are fully connected to the network. How come this never happened with the old version of Limewire? |
