It's possible. Go to your LimeWire library. Now click one of the files and there is a button called explore. Click that. Now it will open a folder with all of your files. Now fully shut down limewire. Then click the file or files you want and drag them to the desktop.

To Add to what GF2 said, you can also transfer your whole shared/saved folder to the desktop without having to drag and drop.

Click Start, then click my computer. Now go to what ever drive you have your shared folder on ie, C drive. Find shared folder and right click the folder. Should see Send To. Now find Desktop (create shortcut) click and your done. Hope this helps.
