No Download For Me

My downloads are stuck on 'connecting...' under status. i tried evrything on this forum in vain. i wonder if there is realy a fix for that.

My System:

Windows Xp pro service pack 2,
Windows firewall,
1GB RAM,
250GB Hard disk,
ADSL Connection,
Orange Modem,
Connecting from home,
LW 4.14.12, java 1.6.0_03,
My isp is Mauritius Telecom,
My test worked!!!!
Im not sharing connection,
it is my 1st try at LW,
My connection is firewall free ie no brick wall,
My modem uses port forwarding n i already port forwarded the ports,
I use Avast antivirus,
I live in MAURITIUS.

Please help me out, i realy wana download.

I know you said that you've tried everything, but have you seen this Thread by Birdy?? Lots of good fixes.

At least you're not blocked by a Firewall. That really tends to be the Pain in the A$$. Try the fixes in this Thread, and if no help we can try something else maybe.

Wow. i already tried birdy's thread but havn't tried the easiest fix,ie, the 5 minutes fix. i tried it n got LW working @ full speed. Thnx.
