![]() I just downloaded LimeWire Extended Pro yesterday and am trying to figure out why I can’t download any good files. I have gone through your forums for info but have found little help. I like to download AVI’s etc. that have Histories, Documentaries, PBS, BBC, Movies, Ballet, Music, Older Concerts, etc. I have found few files of any value. I figured out how to use Bitzi, but so what? By the time I check the list to see what is real or fake, none of them are real so I have wasted my time for nothing. There is a block for pornography, why not a block for bogus files What am I missing? Are there settings, connections, and other sources for files within the program I don’t know about that I should be adjusting? I normally leave things at the default settings. I have been using Emule and have downloaded lots of good things from them, but I worry about Copy write Infringement and thought LimeWire would help protect me. Any guidelines or suggestions from any of you would be most appreciated. I am an older person but love computers and I am learning all the time. I don’t mind asking for help when I need it and will use younger brains for that. I apologize in advance if I missed any of the info in the forums, there was a lot to go through. ![]() |

![]() I think Lord of The Rings explains it best. 1. Beware of Fake files in search results 2. How to find music which can still apply in principle to other types of media. 3. (a) Problems with the search, __ (b) Hostiles List 4. Ignore files less than 2,000 KB (2 MB) as most are spam & many viruses, etc. Arrange search results by size (click on link) 5. You can use the junk filter to designate files less than 1,000 KB as junk. Select those results in search results & click the trash can icon. Also go to Tools menu > Options > Junk & set them to show at bottom of results. P2P means that you are sharing from other Hosts just like yourself. There are no central servers, so what you see is what you get. Limewire has no say over what gets on the network. You just have to be very carefull and Read, Read, Read. As far as Limewire being any safer... There is no such thing when your downloading Copyrighted Material. There are a lot of other means but is one safer than the other???? You might want to take a look here if you don't already have them.
