Very slow download speed

Hi i am currently downloading a file on 4GB. But the downloading speed is annoying me. My connection is:
Download speed: 1544 kbit/sek
Upload speed: 430 kbit/sek

The downloading speed is about 40-50 Kb/s most of the time, and the upload about the same.

Usually, before I booted my laptop, I could get it over 200, so quite a nasty speed.
- Is it because the file is "slow", and not my connection which is messing it up?
