I have bought the Limewire Pro 5.1.2 version for Windows Vista Home and every time I click on the icon on the desk-top, nothing happens. I have installed and uninstalled it until i'm blue in the face.
I've spent hours trying to get it to work. Its driving me nuts. I've wasted my money.
Tried everything is an understatement. Can anyone please help.

Thanx for your advise but yes I have tried all the fixes on gnutella.

I have used LW in the past including 4 and didn't have a problem. It was there on my computer one day and gone the next. My partner had had to reboot the computer back to a previous date and thats when LW was lost from the pc.

I've tried downloading the 4 again, which is one that I also purchased legally but LW is now saying that my version is now expired and no longer available to update.

I'm just at a loss now and am now considering just uninstalling the one I've just bought and not bothering at all.

I've spent so many hours on here trhing to get it back on.......its unreal.

Hi Chris,

You can download LW 4.18.8 basic from the link in my first post - if you had bought Pro & your Pro benefits have expired then you wouldn't be able to download from your Pro personal download page.

But the free basic 4.18.8 is available for download by anyone Even if it's only the basic version, if you can get that to work then it'll be some indication of whether the problem's version related. And there's not much difference between Pro & basic anyway.

If you want to keep trying with LW then go for the basic. If you don't want to try any more then no worries

If your old LW was here one day & gone the next, maybe one of your security programs could be a problem. Some people have found that their antispyware program would (wrongly) pick LW as a threat & delete the .exe file. Which security apps do you use?

We use norton, but have even disabled that until i've downloaded LW but it still doesnt work.

Completely baffled, and I used LW all the time. I'm lost without it now.
