I read e thread that someone posted and he had the same problem and some one told him how to try and solve it so i did the same thing but my " show license agreement box" box was not checked! im not to sure how to work computers so how do i find out if im behind a firewall? please help!!!

While in LW, does the Blue Globe have a brickwall covering it?? If so, you are firewalled. If you are, then you probably arn't connected. If Fully connected, the Connection Bars will either be Green or Blue. If any are Red then not fully connected which will cause the issue you are having.
