crookedcurve is flying high
Default Download slow but full connection

hi i just installed the newest version of limewire for windows. I have a Full connection but when i download a file it will only download at 1or2/kbs which is extremely slow. Any ideas on what the problem is?

Have you used LW before & not had a problem with download speed?

Check out the thread below (the first few posts by murasame) for tips about how to optimise your LW's performance.
A few things to consider while configuring Limewire for optimal performance...

Download a file from here & see what kind of speed you get.
Magnetmix

If that magnetmix file downloads slowly as well, it can point to an ISP shaping p2p bandwidth. Please give us your system details.

Default Solved? We'll see.

I clicked on Tools - Options - Download and changed my speed from unlimited to about 10 KB, clicked on Apply and saw my download speed go down to 10. Then I increased it to Unlimited (this is using the slide bar) and Apply. The speed returned to its normal of about 170kb.
