Default disk problem/error

Ok here's my situation,

I succesfully installed Limewire into my University computers and trying to download music/movies onto my USB so I can take it home. It helps because it is much faster and also I will be saving my internet download at home. Yeh I know its wrong blah blah...I'm not here for a moral lecture.

Anyways, I've chosen my USB drive as the destination of where I want the files to be saved. But when I tried downloading a movie, it downloads for a short while then it all of a sudden goes to 100% but says 'disk error' under 'status'. I made sure I had enough space in my USB so that is not the problem.

I played it, it almost d/l the whole thing but it skips parts of the movie so it isnt really completed. So I'm asking what the deal is there...I have no such problems when using limewire at home.

The way the computer system works at University is that every student has an account they have to log into if they want access to a computer. Because it said disk error when I tried to save it onto my USB, I then used 'My Documents' as the destination to save but still same problem.

Also, a separate problem, when I am downloading stuff using the Uni computers, it can only reach speeds upto 60kbps...which is pretty slow considering that the internet is extremely fast (because the internet is used for the whole campus). I even tested the download speed at Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test and it was something like 20,000kbps (very very fast). I had the connection speed on limewire set on broadband, increased the number of maximum downloads, and even downloaded from sources 'T3 or higher' but still could only reach 60kpbs. With their internet speed, surely I can reach a much much much higher speed...how can it be done?

For extra info, I'm was using the latest version of Limewire basic

Disk problems can mean various things...Have a look through these threads and see if any of the solutions help you out...

Disk Problem??
disk problem
Low Disk Space Message
The "disk problem" problem

Also when it comes to the speed your receiveing it's more than likely the Uni's Firewall protection that's slowing you down..Your pretty lucky you can even use p2p, many Uni's block it altogether...
