All I needed to do was check another post to realize that
the files might be stored elsewhere on my hard drive.

Sure enough, they were.

I'm still having problems with this version of LimeWire but
I've also noticed that an update is available. I'm a little
leery of updating at the moment. But at least my music
files weren't permanently erased or something.

All's well that end's well.

In my panic I failed to look over other posts/threads . The
solution to my problem lie in wait right before my eyes.
