I'm a bit confused - do you see the firewall icon or not?

What happens with the downloads that don't work - do they show 'connecting' for ages, or 'need more sources' or do they just sit there & do nothing once they're in the download pane?

Is the laptop that doesn't have problems running the same version of LW as the computers that do have problems? Are you running LW on all 3 computers at the same time? Check that LW's not using the same port number for all 3 computers... in LW go tools > options > advanced > firewall & there you'll see LW's listening port. Make sure that each computer's LW is using a different listening port (higher ports in the range of 49153 - 65535 are best to try).

Have you tried downloading files at different times of day (ie outside of your ISP's peak hours)?

Delete LW's preferences folder when LW's properly closed. See point 3 here & also point 2 if you've used older versions of LW in the past (there could be a folder in either location).
Fixes for LimeWire
This will change all of your settings within options, you'll have to go back through afterwards & reset things. If you're not sure of your settings, go through LW's tools > options & write them all down, so that you can reset things later.

What are the models of your D-Link & Linksys?

ohk i changed the listening port on my desktop and the laptop that wasn't working between the ranges that you said, both different and right away i downloaded 4 songs, and i dont think it has anything to do with peak times, i know i have changed the listening port before and it worked temperarily, but for now this works, thanks for the help
