Not getting any results on search!!
 

For the last two days I'm getting no results on search. AT ALL! I'm putting in keywords like 'kanye west' or 'heartless', and getting absolutely nothing. I've updated to the latest version and still- nothing.. I'm going crazy!! Please help???

'Might' be your internet service provider interference. Sometimes you may log onto dud ultrapeers, closing LW, waiting a few mins & reconnecting may connect you to new UP's. You can check Connections window to see whether they are different.

Alternatively, delete your LW preferences whilst LW is closed & see if that makes a difference.

I have simulair problems, i used lm for about 2 years now and it workt ok, but now when i enter a searc in stead of 120 results (for instance) only 10 r so, Dont know whythis happened al of a sudden. My comp is exactly teh same. Windows xp Servicepack 3.I use teh firewall of windows , i have Mcaffee(1 YEar) and it worked ok now like 1 month it died on me:bangh:
I changed settings Uninstal reinstal etc, Nope nothing,:bangh::PEACE: Why o why al of a sudden this happened, Btw al of my search programs are running a o k.
And there r no provider issues (checked it) so my best guess is that the Gnutellanetwork is showing some issues. Plz help me out here Thx in advance.:PEACE:

BTW I've discovered the same thing just tonight my time. Seems something odd is happening. And I'm downunder you people. lol :D

I still have a few downloads going despite searches not working well at moment.

What type of files are you searching for?
Mine were video on this occasion, not especially common ones though, but still usually get more results. Audio search I had no problem at all.

in my case i searched for pictures, like dsc00223, r vacation, but music and programs r also less, Btw sometimes its back as usual bit its about 80% of teh time not doing wel

So i think nobody knows the answer, Shame i need pictures for my compgam im working on, But also the other stuf like programs etc r really low in results.

Try varying your search. If choosing the same search too much through the same Ultrapeers can have such an effect apparently. Wait several hours or a day until searching same terms. Else change ultrapeers, go to connections page & drop the ones you have. See if that works. :)

Ahum beeing a Dutchie, lol, maybe enlighten me a bit. Search terms r various, but how about the ultrapeers?
U mean in Filters and then to ultrapeercapacity? and shut that of, r something else. Cause i only could find ultrapeers there

Go to View menu -> Show/Hide > Connections -> then in that window select your UP listed as connected & at bottom press Remove button. Wait for it to connect to another UP. Then remove the others one by one that were originally listed. Perhaps removing just one or two will do the job. :)
Different UP's will give different search results because they themselves are connected to different peers & different 'other' ultrapeers. Could it be that a program on my computer causing this?
I am a resident of Second Life, Wich is a pretty heavy program. Not running it similtanius tho. I use LM for 2 years now . And beeing on sl almost the same time, and it always worked fin,
Or Maybe my antivirusprogram? Mcffee?
Im running out of options here.

No running both at same time would be a little laggy for SL I think lol :D
Which version of LW are you using? Perhaps update your gnutella.net file: If LW Will Not Connect (click on the blue link)

Check your keyword filters, make sure you have not inadvertently filtered out important words. Also 'show' Junk at bottom of search results just in case items are being filtered out of search without you realising. ;)

Wel tried that, even formatted the comp. No dice. Me thinks its got to do with my Mcffee. or has gnutella broke down?

I am having same problems, nothing comes up when i do search results, it just sits there forever. I have redownloaded software, checked my firewall, rebooted, disconnected and reconnected...nothing.

i am vista and LW Pro 4.18.8

it's pissing me off because i upgraded a few weeks ago thinking it would help and still nothing. i am trying to get in touch with limewire but this site has no technical resource contact from what i can see. i sent an email two weeks ago and have gotten no response. nice customer support LW.

Try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Point #2 & 3 in Fixes for Limewire (sample image included at bottom of page.) OR for vista see http://www.gnutellaforums.com/genera...der-vista.html

I've had the 'odd' poor day, but it generally levels out.

I'm having the same problem. I've been using Limewire for YEARS and this is the first time. I have tried many different searches...song name, artist and album searches.

I receive no results on the left side...and 1 result in the actual window.

I have not changed anything on my computer that would be causing this, and I just updated my software. Seriously, what is going on?

Are you showing Junk results at bottom of search results? If not it might be an idea to check nothing is being blocked out accidentally since the junk filter is not super reliable at making the right choices.

When updating to LW 4.18 it's a good idea to delete your LW preferences folder. :)

Any way stil aint working despite al my affords. I guess Limewire doesnt like my ip adres anymore, and i shal have to find a other way to download stuf,
Btw I have a clean comp now after the format and i even shut mcffee of to see if it might have a effect on lw, nope it doesnt, At this point i only can say

You could try 'other' gnutella programs & see if same problem. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/phex-c...-released.html is a good one to try. There's also FrostWire & BearShare 5 beta, etc.

I have this type of problem too. I keep getting crap research results. Tagged "greatest hits", "hot mix" , etc...

I'm in Italy and having the same problems - after using Limewire for more than 2 years suddenly I get no searh results. I've closed down and restarted several times. Nothing. I normally search for audio files; if I search on the keyword "love", for example, I get nothing. Would be great to know how to solve this,

1. Show junk files at bottom of search results.

2. Problems with the search, __

3. Hostiles List

4. Disable Ultrapeer abilities in Advanced -> Performance options.

5. Use the Get More Results option as shown in example image below

6. If you see earlier than LW 4.18 versions connected to you on your connections page, then bump them off & wait for new ones to arrive. ;) Some of the ultrapeers you may be connected to might be spammer UltraPeers (UP's) or dud ones.

LotR, you really are a god for all the help you've been offering to people on this issue.

I haven't bothered to even update my own thread, but my searches are down to absolute, complete, utter zero no matter what I do, no matter what I search for, no matter when I search, no matter what I search for, no matter what connections I keep or drop. LW Pro was a completely useless purchase for me this go round and it's frustrating as hell because it's apparently only not working for a percentage of us and since it's not affecting everyone, no one gives a rat's butt enough to come up with a patch or whatever. Because I don't believe for a second that there isn't a real actual issue.

If I had known I was going to have issues, I'd have kept the older version of LWP I was using and skipped upgrading again - so I get punished for being a loyal customer and paying for LW for years?

This sucks and I know I'm rambling, but every time I read a new person who can't download it makes me madder.

Try changing the skin. It might help. I had the same problem on my Mac, and someone here suggested that I change the skin to make the results reappear. It really helped.

Give it a shot. If it works, yay! If it doesn't, sorry. I'm not sure what else to try.
