Multiple Hosts

I am downloading a file and the status under Search indicates it's coming from multiple hosts. When I look in Library/Incomplete and check the file size, it say about half of the file has downloaded. Howver, the progress under Search says only a small percentage of the file has downloaded. What is the difference between the two? Thanks, jgh
