Angry I'm little upset!

I JUST installed limewire and haven't used it yet. These are my problems:

1 It won't allow me to block ultrapeers from uploading, several are trying to upload but only 3 at a time allowed. I set it to 0 users and 0 bandwidth. I restarted limewire..nothing changes...there are still ultrapeers uploading from me.

2 What ARE they uploading?! When I haven't downloaded anything yet. I'm pissed bc I noticed my desktop available for upload, I quickly removed that. WHY was my desktop set for upload?! I restarted the application but seeing that so many ultrapeers were still trying to upload, and that I couldn't stop them it appeared to me they probably are accessing and uploading something from my desktop!

3 I tried uninstalling limewire. It only uninstalls the desktop shortcut, from the start menu, and possibly the "add remove programs list" if it was there...now its not. BUT it is STILL in my program files, my documents, and registry. It still runs!

4 I'm upset that I can NOT see what ultrapeers are uploading. I should be able to see the files they upload from my computer, as an integrity/security check to make sure the program is safe and running properly. But this is not an option.

5 Same problem removing frostwire. I downloaded limewire and frostwire at the same time..I had NOT used either yet. Frostwire would not allow me to block users from uploading. Again I dont understand what they are uploading.

Yes I have an antivirus I pay for, I have windows firewall, and all windows updates. My operating system had been reinstalled recently and not used much. But I'm afraid that ultrapeers were able to access my norton serial key, etc and access cookies/etc to view passwords used on the internet etc..any other personal information that hackers would want. I don't feel like limewire is safe and I dont understand Why I couldn't block uploads and so many things seemed faulty from this program.

1. How do you know they are ultrapeers trying to upload? Ultrapeers are users you connect to in order to connect to the network. Without ultrapeers you will not connect to the gnutella network. That's how it works. LW basic users connect to 3 UP's, Pro uses to 5. Those who are lucky enough to run in UP mode can connect to many more.

2. When you first install LW you are given options for setting which folders to share or not. There is a Remove link beside each location. Perhaps you missed that option. Depending on which version of LW you are using, I presume v.5 since you didn't say; http://www.gnutellaforums.com/gettin...s-windows.html (click on link)

3. NEVER use the Add/Remove Control panel to remove LW. The uninstall option is via Start menu -> All Programs -> LimeWire -> Uninstall. (This will not remove preferences folder or downloads folders.) Using the Add/Remove control panel will result in an incomplete uninstallation.

4. Under Tools menu on menu bar, you will see option to see Downloads & Uploads windows.

5. I have no idea why you wish to 'block' people uploading from you. This is a p2p network; p2p = person to person sharing. If nobody was sharing files, there would be no files in your search results. It would be an empty network.

See information in the link I posted about knowing which files are shared & not shared. From Library window, those with Shared (1) beside them are being shared. Those files with no 1 after them, Shared are not being shared. In the p2p Network window, files that are shared have a tick beside them. Those not shared do not have a tick beside them. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/337915-post2.html

* Good to see you have Norton AV. Other good tools to have are listed near top of page in point #3 here WARNING: Viruses on network you should be aware of! (click on blue link)
