Problem with Limewire shutting down

Limewire keeps shutting down after several minutes. I have already disabled the firewall, and tried uninstalling the latest version, and in stalling a previous version. My system runs as follows:

Com cast Cable internet connection
2.4 quad core processor
250 gigs of available hard drive
6 megs of ddr2 ram
Vista Premium
Touch stone cable modem # TM 502G
From home
no brickwall on interface
only computer on network
Limewire version 4.16 (somewhat more stable than 5.0.11)
Running threatfire

Things I'd suggest trying are:

1. Delete the LW Preferences folder called Limewire (yes the entire folder) found here: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/genera...der-vista.html but LW MUST be CLOSED at that time. I would also recommend making a note of all important settings in options before you do this.

2. Tip: Purge the Downloads Queue! (click on blue link)

3. If still no good, uninstall all java versions & reinstall as described here: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/333278-post2.html
