Newbie with an mp3 problem

My first post. Sorry if it is in the wrong place.

For the past few days, when I download any mp3 song it shows up as 5 -6000kb but when I try to play in [Windows, VLC or Adobe Audition] I get nothing. Is there a setting that I could have changed without realising.

Other thing is, nothing plays in the Preview either.

All help appreciated.

If the file (audio or video) does not play in VLC then it's most likely fake/deliberately corrupt!

I downloaded two such files my time today ... grr ... I suspected but wasn't sure until they were 100% downloaded.

This is happening to me even with songs that I have downloaded in the past [did it as a test].

I have tried today downloading about 20 different titles and not one plays. Surely everything on LM can't be a virus!!!

I don't know ... did you check those songs before now?

It's a learning process nowadays to know what to download & what not to. There is a lot of spam out there. Recognising it is a skill one needs to learn dare I say it.

Yes, they are all songs that I have played.
