When I search for a video file the result keeps giving me the same five results every time. I have removed ultrapeers and it still happens. It won't even let me open preferences.

Other than the advice Peerless gave you, check How to find music which also applies to video.

If LW 5 will not let you open preferences, then you might have a few too many incomplete files or shares. LW 5 'hates' too many incomplete or shared files. It struggles greatly. A good option is to downgrade back to LW 4 & your problems will mostly be gone.
