I torrented a large file through Limewire overnight, opening the original torrent with limewire. When it was done it did not appear in my library, and since I have my completed downloads set to auto clear, I could not access it through that. I did a search of my harddrive for it, no luck. So essentially I just spent 6 hours downloading file that is now not on my computer >.>

Well that teaches you to use a proper torrent client for torrents from now on.
