In earlier versions of Limewire, I was able to download. Now I am using a MAC 10.6 but I get this error message. How do I fix?

Hello DaveBaker, and welcome to the Gnutella forums!
LW reserves space on your disk before beginning the download. Even when you have plenty of empty space, you'll get a disk error if you don't have enough to room to accomodate all of the dl's that you have cued. If that was no help, write back and one of the more experienced Mac/LW users will have more suggestions. |

I've never seen or heard of that problem on a mac.
Are you attempting to download to your regular hard disk drive or an external drive? Need to make sure the permissions on your drive are set to your account or with permissions for you to use, else you will get an error. Make sure there is plenty of disk space on your computer. MacOSX users Virtual Memory so needs plenty of available disk space. ![]() This is always applicable for torrent files. However reserving of disk space for the file is not applicable to all types of files you find on the gnutella network. Not applicable to audio files and programs & some video formats for example. |

I was just trying to download to my regular Mac hard drive.
I do not know how to adjust "permissions". Any suggestions? Thanks you DaveBaker |

Check the folder you are downloading to. Select it, command (apple key) i keys or go to file menu & choose Get Info ... and at bottom of the window will show permissions. Your account name must be listed and must show Read & Write permissions. Likewise the same applies to your incomplete folder.
![]() Here is an example of adding a different account permissions & giving read & write permissions for that folder: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/attach...ermissions.gif (step 6 in that sample image should have been the admin account.) |
