Also, is there any way to tell if a file is a fake before I attempt to download it? |
1 Attachment(s) The same columns are available in the search view too, as is the Bitzi Ticket command. I have some tips on spotting the fakes and drilling through to the real files here: How to spot and avoid fake search results. So was there no info on Bitzi for the fourth file? Is it something really new, like less than a week old? If so, you can spur along the download by tailoring an advanced search to zero in on that one file to the exclusion of all others. Go back to your search and copy or write down the exact length of the file you want, then hit the Advanced button at the top (right beside the search button), put the exact size in like this and start your new targetted search: |
Keep that search standing by until the download is complete. You can restart it at any time whenever the download gets slow. You can even save your search as a Favourite so you can reuse it next time you run BearShare. I have literally over a hundred. ;] |

…and of course whenever a download stops completely you can right-click it and select Find more sources, which will find more Bears out there with the exact same file. It's a different type of search because it uses the hash instead of keywords, so it's more precise and works very well beside your customized search. |
