Filesize 5,610.8K - GREEN in Search FILTER ???

I have a number of files that show up immediately in a GREEN Font inthe Search Panel, why is that - are they spam files? - Green looks like I've already downloaded them - but I have not, in these cases.....? (Puzzled) - LOVE Phex

That almost certainly says that they are spam fiels (same hash as one of your downloaded files, but different name), and that you're currently downloading that spam under some other name...

Please check your downloads.

By the way: Green means "downloading", grey means "sharing".

Happy sharing!
(of non-spam)

Results shown in green will be immediately added to the candidates of your matching download.

BTW .. different gnutella program client example, but same spam, see examples of spam here: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/downlo...note-them.html yes there is certain spam that shows you have already downloaded the file or is ok; obviously they have duped the code to show it as such. I'm sure the Gnutella client programmers will find an answer to their trick at some stage. :) And 'other' spam could be dealt with better. Phex's size filter helps a lot with this issue, but doesn't solve it. New spam shows up as multiple hundred MB's for videos which is a concern. :) ;)

Keep in mind 'most' spam results are in groups of 3 or more from same ip address. ;) *winks*

Word filters to add/remove would help also, similar to Direct instructions to eliminate porn from results (yes i know Phex has this search filter option, however having it as an optional 'auto' filter would greatly benefit.) :)

Just activate the "no adult content" filter.

It should filter out most adult files (but not all - else the filter would remove to many non****** files as well).

I guess that's the default porn filter then for gnutella. However, if you follow the link in that post for Xtra words to add to word filter, I'm sure they are not included. And yes, that is the issue with auto filters, ... the danger of filtering out legitimate search results. So the words should/could be potentially added/removed from filters. Either via search filter option, else via an option in preferences to ignore certain options (keywords).

It's the one I wrote :)

But I didn't update it for some time.

But since people can just copy and then modify that filter, they can easily improve it for themselves.
