You can change it if you edit the code. # of Hosts is not a user setting.

Are you a coder? If so, gbildson has relevant posts on http://groups.yahoo.com/group/the_gdf/ or you can search the code at https://www.limewire.org/fisheye/

But isn't promoting more than 8 hosts against the gnutella community agreements/philosophy or whatever you wish to call it. After all, if all programs could connect to 10 hosts or more, then
1. that would mean many less upload slots available for people to connect to, thus resulting in long queues of waiting on busy host. (Isn't that WinMX's problem with major queuing) & how many people have more upload slots than downld slots. The maths doesn't seem to equal!,
2. FrostWire & other gnutella variations are here as a result of LW's development. I believe the little extra that Pro offers is a thank you for helping to support the continuing development of Limewire & its offerings to the LW community.

The same could be said about ultrapeers. If programs increased that no., then there'd be less available for people to connect with. And the benefits would not be as bad as the side-FX.

My post is more of a query.

Man I just want 10 hosts so badly...and I can't seem to find the Source Code for FW. I clicked Source Code on the site, then it took me to SourceForge but now I can't find it.

To set for 10 hosts, just get an ISP connection of about 5 mbps down, 1 mbps up.

Then set your connection speed to T3.

That will give you 12 hosts (14 in a LW Pro version).

There is not much point in getting more hosts if you have a slow pipe to the network.

As for the source code, just go to http://www.limewire.org/checkcode.shtml for now. The FW code should be available as soon as SourceForge finishes the changeover to Subversion. Or ask Ultracross.

Use the default settings that correspond to your config. Otherwise, you hammer the network, plain and simple

Information on how to access to our source code can be found here: http://sourceforge.net/cvs/?group_id=142481

You can still access the CVS repository. We won't change over to our SVN repository until we have imported everything and then get used to it. We will still use the CVS server until we completely change over. A notice will be announced or we will just redirect our links to it.

Well, recently I've been having some strange issues with Limewire. I've never heard of Frostwire though, so how do you like it?
