Closing Frostwire Breaks DSL Connection

I've been noticing that whenever I close Frostwire, it breaks my internet connection. I then have to restart my computer and my modem. Does anyone know how to remedy this?

Computer Info: iMac G5, Mac OS 10.4.5, DSL connection
