Default Firewalls/Router Troubles

Ok I know this is a a far cry, but is there anyway to get through a router or firewall and gain acesses to the Gnutella network? I used to able to download without any problems until recently, but now all of a sudden Im being firewalled (the icon on FW shows i have one) I actually dont have a firewall, and I have done alot of research and have come to the conclusion that is my LAN. I live on campus, but the university dosent block access to P2P programs at all. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can get myself back onto the Gnutella network again?? Please help, Ive been stuggling for days!!

Here is my junk:

Dell 4500 Dimension
2 Gig processor
512 ram + extra ram stick
80 gig hardrive
Windows XP
no antivirus or firewall

Netgear FA311 Fast Ethernet adapter

you have to unblock your ports.

typically limewire/frostwire opterate on ports 6881 to 6889.

you have to ublock these in your router, and your software firewall for the program to connect to the network.

You will need to specifically port forward 6346 (although you can use any port, this is just the typical port gnutella uses) and make sure that frostwire is setup in the options to manually port forwarding. And the internal port should be the using the same port to make it easier to configure and troubleshoot--although its not absolutely necessary.
