![]() Check the sticky below, see if that helps:wink: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showthread.php?t=63374 I'm not sure if your router supports UPnP, if it does...have you tried enabling UPnP within the router & then choosing that option from within FW's tools > otions > advanced > firewall config? When you set up port forwarding, did you set up a static IP address first? Also, did you make sure that FW's listening & forwarded ports were the same number? Do this test with your browser...does it work? http://www3.limewire.com:6346 |

![]() My router does support UPnP, but when i enabled it FW still didn't connect. I did make FW's listening & forwarded ports the same number, but I did not set up a static IP address because I do not know how. My computer is on a network with three others in my house. Will setting up a static IP address effect the network. When I went to http://www3.limewire.com:6346 i got the message " Your test worked!" |

![]() You only need to set up a static ip if port forwarding, not for UPnP. But from my experience with users who have Westell devices, they are much better port forwarding. Apparently Westell's UPnP is not reliable. I'd suggest it would be better to forward a port. Look for Westell on this page http://portforward.com/routers.htm No setting up a static ip will not affect anything else "unless" your ISP does not allow static ip's. But that's not common. I have a static ip, but yet my external ip changes from time to time which depends on the isp. I've never looked back since port forwarding. |

![]() To change to a static Ip i went to this web site Setting up a static IP and followed the directions, But when i entered the values into the Internet Protocol(TCP/IP) it said that my two DNS servers could not be identical. But they were. What did i do wrong? |
