nothing like that has been implemented on FW.

I'm sure the LW folks had to be aware of such dangers... they had some of the smartest people I've ever known in that company.

We have to see if FW going to shoot them self in the foot like LW did with Auto Update function. Because FW think user can't find FW site for downloading FW installer...Are people really that stupid as you say they are? I just wonder that's all!

Thanks File_Girl71
You wouldn't happen to have a Linux version would you?

File_Girl71 December 9th, 2010 07:59 AM

Sorry no!:( I assume you are a Linux or Unix user then...You could still use the Windows version of FW on Linux/Unix with "Wine" as you probably know...It's free and opensource for runing native Windows application on Linux/Unix system!;)

I haven't tried Wine though I downloaded it at a friend's pushy recommendation. lol
No windows window interface, simply run the apps as though you were running them in windows but on either Linux or OSX.

I'm just so used to using several virtual windows interfaces (parallels), win 2000 through to win 7 to simulate what each has so I can test things out. Each saved to a disk image, and each with history options in case something goes wrong.
But Wine sounds like a breeze running win apps as though they were native to your system.

That's ok.
Yeah, I'm a Linux user and spend about 99% of my time in Linux.
Wine is ok but it's really the last resort when there is just no native Linux alternative.
Although I have and know how to use Wine, I choose not to use it.
And I'm not going to run Gubatron's infested FW on my computer. I'll find a native Linux alternative to FW and will post some recommendations here later.
To my Windows using friends and clients I'll give your bundel free clean FW.

If you actually share, not just download, then PM me.

thanks File_Girl71. for some strange reason, my FW just completely disappeared off my 'puter, no sign of it in program files or anything, so of course i downloaded your version, sounds like I'm better off anyway.

File_Girl71 January 3rd, 2011 08:26 AM

CertainlyI hope so too...;) I try hard to remove FrostWire's unwanted behavior and all crap it installs too which we do not need!:D

I have the FrostWire version 4.21.3 It is a choice now which one do I open each day, LW or FW So far they aren't hurting each other. I don't think it would be good to run them both. Have a good one
