055 is to much for my system, I have a pentium3 667Mhz and the average usage is over 90% !
This has to do with maintaining the network connections.
In the graphic in the attachment, you can clearly see where I disconnected and connected again to the network.
( It's the win2k taskmanager in dutch, top graphic is the cpu usage )

I'm developing Phex on a Pentium Celron 600 Mhz with win2k and never had problems like this. My CPU usage is around 10% to 20% most of the times.
Can you tell me how many files you are sharing, how many downloads you have in your list and how many simultaneous downloads you allow.
Maybe you can also try to move/rename your Phex configuration files and start Phex again. It will create a clean set of configuration files. Please tell me if this will help to improve the performance.

I was sharing to many files.........
I brought it down from 1300 / 6Gb to 650 / 3Gb and cpu usage is now acceptable around 20%.
