This looks quite great, but sadly we (ie:everyone officially involved with phex) won't be able to use it.

p2p programs can run into a great many problems by stating, that they are to be used to download warez, etc.

You see these copyright-warnings in Phex not for nil. They are simply necessary, because any program intended mainly for the purpose of copyright-infringement (or worse) is plainly illegal.

That is why legal and non-infringing usages of Phex are very important. For example downloading the next version of "the scene" or downloading my cc-licensed stories and songs

Naturally I'd very strongly encourage you to do the latter, because I want as many people as possible to see, read and listen to them.

Some other non-infringing uses:

Downloading Gutenberg-ebooks (simply search for "gutenberg ebook").
Creating private Networks with your friends.
Efficiently finding and downloading shareware and freeware programs for your needs.
Downloading materials from magnetmix.com .
Downloading Materials which you will be able to automatically get from the "Phex Polar Skulk" or any similar propagating group (This is just in the works).
