Switching to "Windows (System Look and Feel)" had the effect of reducing the displayed font sizes inside the window, resulting in a fix for the problem

.

Just for testing I switched back and the problem (along with larger fonts) re-appeared though not as bad as the screen shot I posted.

Thanks for the assist, much appreciated.
