I have installed the JRE 1.4 and in general Phex seems to perform well on it and seems more responsive.
I have experienced the behaviour in the search screen as described by xyz:

"The "Remove" function on the Search window acts a bit oddly compared to previously (removing search results but not white space (at least not immediately), not always removing search history from pull down menu)"

But as it was the first time I used this function , I can't tell how it was with the JRE 1.3 .

I found out by accident ( I just never touch it when using Phex ) that the scroll button works with jre1.4 !
