Default CD play

New to this. Downloaded a number of files and burned to CD but it will only play on my computer. Won't play in cars CD players- says error1 and that's it -nada. How do I fix this? Tks to all

Greetings limewired1.

Don't know how experienced you are at CDs. Most burners give the option of burning as music or data disk. Older players can't handle MP3s, so music burned as a data disk would play on computer but not older CD players. Same thing with CD-R vs CD-RW. Some (especially older) players are a bit picky.

Tks. Probably the problem. I was burning the CD's using Windows so probably data only - Players in cars are new (09) so that should not be the problem. I'll try burning w/ Nero and see if that fixes things. Much obliged

You could also try burrrn as long as they aren't .wma files. Great, simple to use, small freeware app for making music CDs burrrn.net - The home of Burrrn and Mr QuestionMan Downloads

I, too, recommend burrrn.
If you insist on using WMP, under the Burn tab you can choose the format for burning. If that doesn't fix the problem, read the specs for your player to make sure you are using the right type of disks.
