It would be nice to share files in .wma format that have been downloaded from CD's. Unfortunately, the Windows Media Player includes copy protection when files are converted from audio CD's that prevents them from being played on other computers. Since I've downloaded .wma files from Gnutella without this protection, there must be a method of circumventing this obstacle. Any ideas?

There is a registry edit (crack) out there for that. Just search a couple of major search engines you should find something.
