You greedy bastards! SHARE-DAMMIT

So, you think Gnutella sucks? Perhaps it is you that sucks. The Gnutella community was designed so that people can share files. The problem is that there exists too many leeches who prefer to download and not allow uploads. Maybe they are thinking that they can maximize their bandwidth by not sharing. But to you I say "you reap what you sow". Stop complaining about download speeds and availability. YOU may be the cause. I have a DS-1 on the internet and my Gnutella shares seven open high speed connections. Yet, it is difficult for me to download a damned thing because-----NOBODY FREAKING SHARES JACK SQUAT. So, if you're complaining, SHUT YOUR PIE HOLE or LEAVE THE COMMUNITY.

Did you ever consider it may be your OS?
I share and don't care, fun to watch people d/l britney spears boob shot, laugh a minute. One little boobie and guys go wild, waste of perfectly good computing power. Nice rack though.

This is why I use Gnotella and disconnect freeloaders automatically. I dont care about sharing with people who dont share themselves, and 56kers take up download slots forever.

Freeloaders would share if every client had freeloader and browser blocking features. Right now I only know of a few that do.

About freeloading - when I started filesharing I had no files to share so got some by downloading and now have 169 good quality and growing all the time. I wasn't freeloading when I started just new! I've shared loads of files now and support what gnutella/limewire is supposed to be about (not grabbing everything you can at someone elses expense) Also cheers to those who don't chop you off when u are using a 56K modem. I'd love to be able to afford a faster connection and I can see it slows faster connections down but I can't afford it. Is filesharing supposed to be elitist?

How about a split uploading system where we could control the number of large files AND the number small files uploading. A slider control could be introduced allowing us to differentiate between large and small files. I have many smaller files that would upload quickly if I didn't have six people uploading 50+ mb files all at the same time. This could help gnutella a lot, especially dial-up users who look for smaller files.

No, it is for everyone! I never chop modem users.

I think its cool when someone downloads from me. :D

I thought that was the whole point of Gnutella and the other file sharing protocols.
