sharing folder

i clicked stop sharing by accident and now my folder is gone. i know that i can go to file, add sharing file and find a file that says "sharing" there or i can go to tools, options, sharing, and *** folder there but when i do either of them the only folder option that i have is one that says "root"..this folder doesnt halp me. can anyone with any advice please help me
