![]() [I was wondering if there was any possibility that something like e-mail would be possible over the Gnet especially considering the mplications of snooping software like carnivore. :)] Hallo: I think this would be VERY difficult for the following reasons: 1. The recipient would not be online all the time. 2. Very difficult to identify the proper recipient 3. Most IPs are dynamic and will change every log-in 4. As software like carnivore (and, needless to say, our european equvalent) will monitor backbone traffic, nothing would be helped. So I suggest you to use some kind of hard ciphering; eg. PGP (but use an european version, I heard the US version has a 'backdoor', this is an unconfirmed rumour, though. Believe it or not, as you want :), or better GnuPGP. Do a search for yourself, if you want I can mention you some sites for further reading. I think this is the easiest way for truly private mail. Greetings.... |

![]() The primary [stated] purpose of Carnivore is less to read content than to know "who is communicating with whom", so encrypting normal emails doesn't offer too much protection from what they say they're doing anyway... My question is... What is the Terrorists are using Hotmail?!? |
