Why is the cost so much more than downloading from site. Yes, this is from limewire site.

I have no idea! The CD is unlikely to be the very latest version, and unless you have a useable internet connection, having the CD will be of little use! If you have a useable internet connection, you can download it

Well, the CDs have maybe collector's value in a few weeks.

I think it's a bit of a scam, frankly, when you go to buy the pro version in big letters it says get the cd. In small letters it has the download for 18.88

Can't say I blame them Though it must of cost a lot to produce this softare. So yes I went for the CD but I have it to use if I crash or reformat or something I guess that's soemthing.

After reading your reply, maybe I should get the CD. You're right the software costs a lot to produce, and those folks and the opensourcers who help out certainly deserve the support, especially when they give it away freely.

i bought&downloaded limewire pro
but after formatting my pc
i can NOT download limewire pro anymore.
limewire doesnt recognize my e/mail add.
although i had user name &password but
cant use to download...so getting limewire pro
is WORTHLESS, better stick with normal limewire NOT pro..

pro does not have lifetime upgrades....I think the maximum is 1 year and the normal is 6 months...

the lesson to be learned is to save the installer file for future use...
