misplaced files

My sister was downloading a few songs while emailing and when she returned to limewire a large folder of songs had disappered. We eventually found the folder of songs which we can now only access through our Create a CD program. I've tried adding another share directory through limewire, but whenever I select the directory the files are in, nothing happens. How can I move the files back into limewire and how did the files get deleted in the first place? (My sister is positive she didn't delete them, and I believe her as she is fairly knowledgable with computers)
