DO YOU HAVE iphoto???
If you do hook it up to download to iphoto.
Your computer with iphoto should recognize it and download and upload.

Do you have a mac or a pc???
I have a imac G5.

I just got the i pod nano 16 GB with video also and not have used the video as of yet.
Playing with the music podcasts and itunes movies.Fun.
Bought the Dr Dre "Beats" headphones too. What a good sound!
Works well with them. Shuts the wife 100%!!

Do you see the iPod icon when you attach it to the computer?
iPod not recognized in 'My Computer' and in iTunes for Windows and Apple - iTunes - Tutorials - Learn about all things iTunes. perhaps.
You can sync the ipod to your iTunes, either automatically or manually. 'To sync manually, select the exact items you want to add or remove and drag them to and from your iPhone or iPod.' Apple - iTunes - Tutorials - Learn about all things iTunes.

Manual Updating of iPod (best watched with VLC player) and How to transfer music to my iPod (& iTunes) page 2

Is it my 2009 Norton Antivirus???
Happens only when Itunes and Limewire 4.18 are both up. Do you know why???

Black screen? I suspect it is related to your view options. Personally I view as List. I have Genius turned off & Hidden. Grid & Cover Flow view options may show a black background for you. I also have Artwork column and Column Browser hidden. Find these options under View menu.

If you suspect Norton is affecting things then disable it as a temporary measure to see if it is at fault.

Thanks I will try the Norton idea.
I'll disable the Firewall too.

When I say screen.I mean a transparent grey-black comes down like a rolling garage door.Where in the middle says to reboot your computer in three or four different languages.
Totally freezes my OS until I reboot it up.

I also run Firefox 3.5.4 which this version has had bugs also since it came out.

Thanks for your time,again.

I get you .. yes that usually represents something is incompatible with your system, something is clashing. A software you have installed is causing severe crashing of your system. Sounds like 'something' is not compatible with your OSX version or even possibly your hardware.

Do a safe boot repair permissions. Also, start up using your OSX support disk & run tests to see if it finds any issues.

The Firewall was the problem.
I disabled it and it was smooth sailing all the way.
Thanks for your input!
