![]() I got limewire installed with only the error that limewire exists and it made the link runLimewire. however, when I start it, it gets to the point where is asks for the download directory and then it pops up the error that it cannot use the dir i selected, no matter what dir I use. the permissions are correct...in a manner of speaking...I changed them to 0777 which makes it world writeable and still get this error this is a regular user account it is installed under and there should be no reason it can't use a dir I make, right? so what's the deal here? I been poundin keys for 2 hours trying to make this work. I tried it under the root account and it allowed me to define the dir and then proceeded to seg fault. now don't tell me that it's because I use slackware and blah blah blah, because I know better and linux is linux. I am using the current version with the 1.4.0 jre from sun. |
